Hi, I’m Mel, an illustration and lettering artist who has recently moved to Essex. I’m the inky hands behind all of the Mighty Mindcircus characters.
I bring my animal characters to life through scratchy, energetic lines. I have worked on honing my craft over the last 9 years and have been teaching art workshops for 3 years now.
The name The Mighty Mindcircus originates from a time in my life where I was governed by a flighty, circus-like brain – brimming full of ideas and imagination…all of the time, it was EXHAUSTING!
Now I have worked on channeling that mental energy into my work. Painting and lettering brings me a sense of calm and grounding in an otherwise wild world. And that is what I would like to share with you.
My artworks are inspired by the natural world and our animal pals. My workshops aim to help give my students the tools and knowledge that they need to go out into the world and create!

Mel’s drawing workshops offer the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded people who share your passion for art and nature. You’ll spend the morning looking at beautiful images of animals and nature, you can then use a range of art materials, bring your creation to life – in your own style.
Guided by an experienced artist, you’ll receive lots of tips and encouragement throughout the session. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, you’ll learn the basics of drawing animals and be free to express your own creative flair.
