Join talented local calligrapher Lauren from Ink and Flow for this insightful introductory calligraphy class. This relaxed and friendly workshop is ideal if you have no previous calligraphy experience and don’t worry it doesn’t matter if you think you have terrible handwriting! Lauren will guide you through all of the basics and give you plenty to go away and practice with. A full calligraphy kit for you to keep is included.

Ever looked at those beautiful, bespoke resin clocks and thought, “I’d love to make something like that!”? Well, here’s your golden chance. By the end of this weekend, you’ll walk away with a stunning statement clock that you’ve crafted yourself.

This is a weekend workshop: Saturday 27th April 10am-1pm and Sunday 28th April 2pm-3pm

What you’ll do

Introduction: Quick overview of the materials and safety guidelines. Don’t worry, we’ll keep this light and easy to follow.

Preparation: Prepare your workstation and get to know your tools—a perfect way to set yourself up for crafting success.

Mixing & Pouring Resin: We’ll guide you through the process of mixing your resin and adding some colour and sparkle with Mica Powder.

Final Touches: Smooth out any bubbles and make sure your clocks are good to go.

Setting & Curing: Your pieces will need a good night’s sleep to fully set. Come back the next day to finish and pick up your finalised clocks.

"The team do an amazing job of putting together a full and varied programme. I’ve been to two food events over a few years (a vegan night, and a moroccan night) where you BYOB. Food quality has been amazing both times, with great demos and/or explanations behind the dishes. The atmosphere is great for dining events too - and the team don’t overbook it, lots of room for everyone without feeling like you’ve got people on top of you. Would definitely rebook for future food events."

Currently I'm halfway through a beginners dress making course with Liz Bleach, outstanding all the way from the excellent cake (V by the Sea I understand) to the proprietor Simons excellent teamaking ;-) Liz is an amazing tutor, the standard of her tuition is incredible, the course group is manageable at 6 people, enough to make us a little sociable team but not so many that she's spread too thinly. Shes very attentive and clearly an expert! The building and environment for doing the courses is really condusive to having a terrific learning experience, as it feels 'arts and crafts' but in a contemporary way and it's really easy to get to as well in the heart of Leigh on Sea. I suffer with migraines and doing a night course worried me a little, but they've clearly invested in some quality lighting as despite concentrating on small stitches for hours my eyes aren't tired at all at the end of the evening. Full marks all round and I can't wait to try other courses that they offer (which seem to be legion, everything from food to flowers!) Bravo Create98 team I'm glad to know you :-)
