Have you got a sewing machine but don’t know how to start making your first garment? Liz will advise on pattern and fabric choice, show you how to pin and cut your pattern, then support you in constructing your own garment using your own machine. You will learn lots of tips for handling materials, getting the best from your machine and achieving a neat, professional finish.
Discover Drawing (3 Week Course)
Drawing can be a great way to switch off and relax. This course will show you how to draw following basic skills and techniques working with a variety of drawing mediums. We will use pencil, graphite, charcoal, inks and pens to explore line, shape, tone, light and shade, perspective and negative space working form life and printed images. Suitable for complete beginners.
Pen and Ink Drawing (6 Week Course)
This course will aim to teach participants how to draw with pen and ink. We will explore the theme of mark making creating a variety of textures and patterns with pen and nib and other drawing tools. We will using coloured and black Indian inks to create images working from both life and photos. This course is suitable for those with some basic drawing skills.
Create Your Own Japanese Apron
Japanese aprons are a perennial design classic that are easy to make with basic sewing techniques. Come and join us to make your own personalised apron in a relaxed studio class suitable for beginners or the more experienced sewer. All materials are provided and you will complete a reversible apron in the fabric of your choice, with a template to keep.
