Come along and join us at Create98 for a relaxed and informal evening of Pinchos and Tapas, prepared by Emma.  She has travelled widely across spain and would like to share some of the delicious food this wonderful country has to offer.

Tonight, be transported to a cosy, relaxed tapas bar ‘somewhere in Spain,’  with tasty tapas and relaxing music. You could be in a village high up in the hills or in a back street of Granada, as you taste a selection of delectable tapas and pinchos made especially for this evening at Create98.

Homemade Herb & Olive Bread with Lemon Aliolo

Marinated Olives & Spiced Almonds

Pinchos Trio (small bites):

  • Goats Cheese & Caramelised Onions on a small piece of bread, topped with a walnut & balsamic glaze
  • Medjool date stuffed with blanched almonds wrapped in smoky bacon (Vegetarian option: Salted padron peppers)
  • Skewered then griddled chorizo slices, stuffed with manchego sundried tomatoes and fresh basil (Vegetarian option: Skewered then griddled courgette stuffed with ricotta, pepper & tomatoes)

Melon con Jamon serrano: Serrano ham, melon served with crumbled feta, basil, mint and extra virgin oil & balsamic glaze (Vegetarian option: as above but without the Serano)

Ensalada Rusa y Pan: A classic Spanish salad of potatoes, eggs, tuna, carrots, peas, red peppers, olives, gherkins, capers and parsley in mayonnaise served with toasted bread (Vegetarian option: as above but without the tuna)

Red Peppers & Anchovies: Roasted and marinated red peppers, anchovies, black olives and fresh oregano (Vegetarian option: as above but without the anchovies)

Smoky Albondigas: Beef & Pork meatballs in a rich smoky tomato sauce (Vegetarian option: Garlic mushrooms in a smoky tomato & onion sauce)

Vegetable, Cheese & Chorizo Empanada: A small puff pastry parcel of veggies, cheese and chorizo with a dipping sauce (Vegetarian option: as above but without the chorizo)

Merengue con Fresas y Menta: A mini meringue topped with whipped cream, strawberries, fresh mint and ginger syrup.

During the last 20 years, together with my husband Peter, I have travelled quite extensively through Spain, staying in and hiking through some incredible places.  Visiting some fantastic bodegas, tasting and learning about the wines they produce, staying in medieval villages high up in the mountains, to weekends of culinary delights in cities such as Logrono in the north, famous for its tapas bar-filled streets, to Granada and Seville in the south, so well know for Flamenco.

Over the last 37 years, I have been lucky enough to have travelled the world, living and working in many different countries.  But, as I have got older I've found that the countries I keep on going back to are India, which I absolutely adore, and of course Spain! The mountains, forests, beaches, cities and towns of both these incredible countries all have something different to offer, and I never get tired of the warm welcome and amazing culture of each.

I hope I can replicate and little bit of my joyous experiences I have had through food with you tonight.  I hope you enjoy.
