Are you ready to embark on an artistic journey filled with excitement and inspiration? Whether you’re a beginner looking to explore the world of lino printing or a seasoned artist seeking a refreshing creative outlet, our Lino Printing Workshop is the perfect place for you.

What is Lino Printing?

Lino printing is a delightful and accessible printmaking technique that involves carving intricate designs into a linoleum block. The carved block is then inked and pressed onto paper or card, resulting in stunning and unique prints that capture the essence of your imagination.

What to Expect:

Lola will guide you through every step of the process, ensuring you feel confident and comfortable as you embark on your creative adventure. No prior experience is necessary; this workshop is designed for beginners and refreshers alike. We’ll start by introducing you to the tools and materials, showing you the best techniques for carving your lino block, and experimenting with various inking methods.

Bring Your Ideas to Life:

This workshop celebrates your individuality and creativity. You are encouraged to bring your own design ideas or take inspiration from the beautiful surroundings and themes provided. Lola will help you transform your concept into a lino masterpiece, ensuring your prints truly reflect your vision.

What You’ll Take Home:

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have learned the art of lino printing and created a series of unique prints to cherish. Your prints will be a beautiful addition to your home or make for thoughtful gifts for friends and family.

This workshop includes all materials, a slice of homemade cake and a hot drink.

Lola Swain

I am a qualified teacher (BED Hons) and have been working in education for over twenty-five years. During this time, I have taught both children and adults in schools, colleges and workshops at various levels and abilities including those with special needs. I am an exhibiting potter and book artist. The natural world is a major source of inspiration. Nevertheless, I find other things influencing my work such as the incorporation of architectural or cultural inspired detail informed by my travels. My pots are hand-built using traditional coil methods with a surface decoration of coloured and burnished slips. Much of my book artwork combines a variety of techniques including lino, collagraph, marbling, waxed etching, letterpress and paper cuts. I exhibit in various regional exhibitions and art fairs and belong to a number of artists’ groups
