Outside of work as an office manager, I’ve always created and 20 years ago I started making greetings cards for family and friends. With an inability to throw anything possibly useful away, I now make all sorts of things with paper: journals and scrapbooks, postage stamp art projects, alongside a bit of abstract art and a little slow stitching, beadwork and embroidery all of which I use to make junk journals – bound bits of paper in a cover that would otherwise be thrown away in which to create art, write or keep mementoes. You’ll never look at packaging in the same way!
I also love creating my own bits of patterned paper to work with on greetings cards, in collages or in journals using a gel plate which allows unique mono-prints to be created using paint or ink with no need for a lot of expensive or complicated equipment, just one’s imagination.
