Event Details
Mandalas, derived from the ancient Sanskrit language meaning “circle” or “centre,” have been a symbol of infinity and the universe since as early as 700BC. These intricate designs, rich in history and utilised in spiritual practices across Buddhism and Hinduism, serve as mediums for meditation, prayer, and pathways to healing and enlightenment. Traditionally crafted with vibrant crushed stones, sand, or through meticulous hand-drawing, Mandalas are not merely designs but are a spiritual journey encapsulated in various shapes and patterns.
Navigating the Intricacies of Mandala Drawing:
At first glance, Mandalas may appear complex and daunting, especially to novices. However, with a breakdown of the process into manageable steps and through guided practice, crafting your own Mandala becomes an achievable and enjoyable endeavor.
Course Outline: Hand-Drawn Mandalas Meet Candle Decor
In this immersive class, we will explore the art and spiritual journey of creating Mandalas, culminating in the decoration of a candle with your hand-drawn artwork. Our journey will encompass:
- An introduction to the materials essential for Mandala creation
- Crafting a foundational template to guide your design
- Exploring and drawing intricate Mandala patterns
- Adorning a candle with your completed Mandala, transforming it into a personalized piece of decor
Inclusive Experience:
The course fee encompasses all the materials required to draw your Mandala and a candle for decoration, which will be yours to cherish and take home.
A Gentle Reminder:
As your candle becomes a canvas for your Mandala, it is recommended to utilise it as a decorative piece, illuminating your space with its design rather than its flame.
Join us in this enlightening journey, where art and spirituality intertwine, creating a serene and illuminating experience.

Hi my name is Hannah and I’m based near Stansted in Essex. I’m an artist, crafter, author, teacher and designer. I’ve been a crafting for over 20 years and discovered Zentangle®️ and Mandalas arts around 2007. In 2014 I decided that I wanted to take my Zentangle journey further and traveled to Rhode Island in America where I attended a seminar with the founders of the Zentangle method, became a Certified Zentangle Teacher a “CZT” and I’ve been teaching ever since. I offer a variety of Zentangle, Mandala and mixed media art and craft classes, course and workshops across Herts, Essex, London and Malta. I have written several books and magazine articles on the Zentangle method and my ‘Drawing Mandalas’ book was published last year and was shortlisted for the 2023 Creative book awards. I have taught 1000’s of adults and children in schools, businesses, charities, art & craft shops, parties, at mindful events, at the NEC and on the TV craft show Hochanda.
