Event Details

Lino printing is a traditional printmaking technique that involves carving a design into a linoleum block, applying ink to the carved surface, and transferring the image onto paper. The result is a beautiful, handmade card with a rustic touch.

During the workshop, you’ll be guided by Lola who will teach you the fundamentals of lino printing. From sketching your designs to carving the linoleum blocks, you’ll witness the transformation of your ideas into a stunning piece of art. No prior experience is needed, as Lola will provide step-by-step guidance, ensuring everyone can unleash their creativity.

Each card will carry your distinctive style, making them perfect gifts for friends and family or even keepsakes for yourself.

And that’s not all – we know that creativity needs nourishment! A delicious lunch will be provided to keep your energy levels high. Plus, we’ll sweeten the experience with a slice of handmade cake.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Learn the art of lino printing and its unique techniques.
  • Create your own original design
  • Receive expert guidance and support from skilled artists.
  • Enjoy a delightful lunch to keep you energised throughout the day.
  • Scrumptious cakes and beverages during the break.
  • Connect with like-minded individuals and immerse yourself in a joyful, holiday atmosphere.

Lola Swain

I am a qualified teacher (BED Hons) and have been working in education for over twenty-five years. During this time, I have taught both children and adults in schools, colleges and workshops at various levels and abilities including those with special needs. I am an exhibiting potter and book artist. The natural world is a major source of inspiration. Nevertheless, I find other things influencing my work such as the incorporation of architectural or cultural inspired detail informed by my travels. My pots are hand-built using traditional coil methods with a surface decoration of coloured and burnished slips. Much of my book artwork combines a variety of techniques including lino, collagraph, marbling, waxed etching, letterpress and paper cuts. I exhibit in various regional exhibitions and art fairs and belong to a number of artists’ groups
