How to paint a portrait of a child in watercolour.
Learn how to make a delicate and characterful portrait in transparent watercolour.
Trace from a photo, then use watercolour washes to build the portrait.
Take away a worksheet so you can further your skills at home.
Claire will provide a reference photo. However, if you want to use your own, it must be a hi-res photo – head and shoulders only, taken in natural light (not flash as it flattens features). No teeth as Toothy smiles narrow the eyes and distort the features. This is an entry level class and we want to make it as easy as possible!
Can you please email the photo as a jpeg to [email protected] and we will print it on the right size for the paper for you to trace.
All materials provided (you are welcome to bring your own favourite brushes!), drinks and snacks will be available to purchse
